This is a somewhat delayed posting of my klezzie set. Klezmer is eastern European Jewish music, which in the U.S. blended with jazz music in the 1920s-1940s, and then helped spawn surf music. In its more recent revival, it has crosspollinated with other genres from hip-hop to reggae to new age elevator music. I neglected to include any new age elevator music in my set :P.

Summery sets from Pink, with love.

What can I say, it was July 4th, I decided to do an AMERICA FUCK YEAH set. Although if you look a little closer, it is not merely blind nationalism. A set of some of my favorite American music, combining pride, dissent, and creative expression.

1. Woody Guthrie - "This Land is Your Land"
2. Iron Horse - "Ride The Lightning"
3. Funkadelic - "You And Your Folks, Me And My Folks"
4. Phil Ochs - "I Ain't Marching Anymore"

12. Dick Dale - "Riders In The Sky"
13. The Allman Brothers Band - "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed"
14. Frank Zappa - "Son Of Mr. Green Genes"

And because I have neglected to post my set from June 27th, here it is! This was a summery, often fuzzy, often obscure, set.

1. Angus MacLise - "Shortwave-India"
2. Inverness - "Your Eyes Are Flowers of Light"
3. Mount Eerie - "Voice in Headphones"
4. Shades of Joy - "Flute in a Quarry"
5. Brothers Unlimited - "Life, Dreams, Death"

12. Tom Waits - "Hoist That Rag"
13. Magpie Killjoy - "the finest day of my life"
14. Norrbottens Järn - "Balladen Om Några Av Våra Vanligaste Myter"
15. Fela Ransome Kuti & Nigeria 70 - "Viva Nigeria"
16. Old Time Relijun - "Garden of Pomegranates"
17. Silver Summit - "Water's Edge"

As always, artist names and song titles are linked to, where you can listen to tracks, read artist biographies, and watch videos. And if any of you are not my friends yet, here is my profile!
